![]() ![]() Now, an exclusive look at Eternals from EW is answering one of the longest-standing questions about the upcoming film: why the Eternals didn't interfere during Infinity War or Endgame. The film stars a mixed bag of established Hollywood stars, like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek, and up-and-comers, like Barry Keoghan and Lia McHugh, alongside Game of Thrones alum Kit Harrington and Richard Madden. The film follows the titular team of immortal beings who have been living on Earth for thousands of years and have never interfered until now, concurrent with the rise of an evil race known as the Deviants. For starters, it is written and directed by Chloé Zhao, who recently won Best Director (the first woman of color to do so) and Best Picture at the 2021 Oscars for Nomadland.Īfter Shang-Chi does the same, Eternals will be introducing a brand new cast of characters to the MCU. Suffice to say, Eternals is one the most unique films Marvel has lined up for its Phase 4 slate. While all eyes are currently on Marvel's next release, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, releasing on September 3, Eternals will be coming up soon behind it on November 5.
